Industrial Material Handling Systems
At Airpes we are experts in the design of material handling and lifting systems, offering various solutions according to the needs of the customer who contacts us. Each type of material can and must be handled in a different way, either to perform operations more efficiently or for not damaging what is lifted and/or transported. In this article we show you the solutions we offer in Airpes according to the type of material to be handled.
Handling metallic materials and intermediate metallic products
In this case, and especially for unfinished products, the most logical option is a lifting electromagnet. This Airpes lifting system, which can be adapted to any type of crane already installed, makes it possible to lift and handle metallic materials such as steel plates, rods, wiring coils and metallic beams. Very present in the iron, steel and siderurgical industry, lifting electromagnets make it possible to handle materials easily and quickly.
In some cases, and even in the case of metallic materials, some companies prefer to opt for other solutions. In the case of wire coils, the lifting tongs or the C-Hook are a good alternative to electromagnets, as these lifting systems offer advantages in terms of ease of installation and lower cost.
Reorientating pieces in different positions
Sometimes we are contacted by companies that need a lifting system that allows them to lift and move large blocks of material or large pieces while changing the position or orientation of those pieces. For these cases we have two solutions:
1 – Load rotors
Load rotors by pulleys, that allow to turn and to put upside down any object no matter how big it is. We have successfully developed, designed and installed load rotators in several companies, including the rotor installed for a multinational company with the capacity to turn generators for turbines weighing 175 tons.
2 – Crane blocks with integrated rotation
Rotating crane blocks, which allow the hook of any crane to rotate 360º on itself on the vertical axis. With this solution we can orientate the load in any direction on itself. This is useful in logistics and transportation operations and with large rectangular parts that need to be reoriented for example, for loading them onto the truck when leaving the warehouse.
